Summary

The Lead Technician will perform all Brake, Oil, Alignment, Tire services to include ABS on various

makes/models, and in addition to other repair services approved. The Lead Technician will also serve as

a back up to Management when needed. Maintaining building appearance and performing daily tasks

assigned.

Essential Functions

 Properly perform all brake services following Brake Check’s policies and procedures and ensuring

customer satisfaction with established goals and time commitments.

 Remove and replace struts/coil springs, CV axles and steering components.

 Properly use bench lathe (rotors & drums).

 Diagnose engine codes.

 Road-test customer vehicles to confirm customer concerns have been addressed.

 Perform company meet and greet phone procedures.

 Answer Store telephone calls timely and in a professional manner when other management is

unavailable.

 Properly build a repair order following Brake Check procedures.

 Properly diagnose all brake issues including ABS brake systems.

 Properly use diagnostic equipment.

 Raise/lower vehicles using proper equipment.

 Remove and replace brake lines.

 Remove and replace steering linkage components.

 Remove and reseal rear-end axle seals and reseal differential cover.

 Remove and replace hub bearing.

 Disassemble and reassemble drum brakes, disc brakes and rebuild calipers.

 Remove/replace brake hoses and properly bleed and flush brake fluid in all vehicles.

 Replace belts, shocks, lugs and studs.

 Remove and replace all wheel cylinders.

 Remove and replace master cylinder and power booster.

 Properly perform quick checks and alignments using specified equipment.

 Remove and reinstall wheels from vehicles; torque wheels.

 Check air pressure of tires to ensure proper OEM specifications of tire.

 Install alignments shim kits and cam bolts.

 Inspect and change oil filters.

 Inspect and change air and cabin filters, windshield wipers and lights, if necessary.

 Sanitation and store appearance are key at Brake Check. All team members will be expected to

perform tasks necessary to keep sanitation and store appearance up to Brake Check standards.

 Uphold Brake Check’s core values of integrity, reliability and urgency through work performed,

interaction with others, and through the service delivered to our customers.

 Act responsibly and to take care for the health and safety of team members, customers, visitors, and

vendors; carried out by working safely and efficiently, using personal protective equipment (PPE)

provided and adhering to Brake Check procedures for securing a safe workplace.

 Must provide and maintain a full set of required hand tools for position and ability to safeguard them

(i.e. locking toolbox).

 5 Star Certified through training in Team Portal by completing modules, assessments and acquiring

tools required for role as assigned.

 Other job duties to be performed as assigned.

 Lead Technician Commitment

30 45 60 Day Kick Start Program

 Minimum 60 +Day Production Rate Lead Tech to Goal/Role - Maintain 10% labor cost for role

Required Education and Experience

 Minimum age requirement of 17 years.

 Legally authorized to work in the United States.

 Possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier.

 Hands on automotive repair experience.

 Working knowledge of shop equipment and repair tools.

 5 Star Certified in Oil Technician, Alignment Technician and Brake Technician roles.

Desired Education and Experience

 Demonstrates leadership and motivational abilities, time management and organizational skills.

 5 Star Certified in Assistant Store Director 2 role.

members.

 Positive attitude, strong work ethic, high level of motivation and energy.

 Able to identify issues and contact a member of Store management to resolve problems.

 Ability to work a flexible retail schedule to ensure proper coverage of the Store, including Saturdays,

Sundays and holidays.

 Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Work Location

 Assigned Store location are subject to change.

 Team Members may be transferred to other store locations based upon business needs.

Supervisory Responsibility

 No direct reports.

 Assists in training and oversight of worked performed by team members.

• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate required hand tools, mechanical tools.

 Must be able to function well in a physically demanding environment that frequently exposure to

adverse weather conditions.

 Normal or corrected sight ability required.

 Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
